Often confused with dry skin which is lacking in oil, dehydrated skin is lacking in moisture. Indications that skin is dehydrated are sensitivity, itchiness, dullness, dark circles under the eyes and increased appearance of wrinkles. Dehydrated skin can be caused by a number of factors, including not drinking enough water, excess consumption of alcohol or caffeine, smoking, insufficient sleep, poor diet, the effects of the sun, wind, air conditioning or heating, and some cosmetics.
