What is HALO laser treatment?
As we age, our skin quickly reflects the years we’ve lived. From sun damage to stress and busy lifestyles, you may notice the development of pigmentation, wrinkles and changes to your skin’s texture. We use premium laser resurfacing to not only reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles but to improve your skin’s texture, tone, pigmentation and laxity.
Better yet, we do it using a world-first laser that uses numerous wavelengths of light simultaneously to optimise your results while minimising your discomfort and downtime. So if you’re looking for the latest skin treatments, you should try our HALO laser now available exclusively at our Brisbane clinic.
The HALO laser removes the aged and damaged skin cells on the outside of your skin while penetrating deep into the layers below to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. This means your skin is reinvigorated and restored from the inside and out, as blood, oxygen and nutrients are better circulated in the treatment area, for healing and repair.
What areas can be treated?
The laser is typically administered to the face but some other areas can be treated too:
- Face
- Neck
- Chest
- Hands

What to expect from HALO laser treatments
If you choose to have HALO fractional laser treatment at our Brisbane clinic, this is what you can expect:
Consultation
Your first appointment starts with a consultation with one of our Dermal Therapists or Registered Cosmetic Nurses, to ensure that this is the best treatment to help you achieve your desired results.
Before your treatment, we’ll take a series of images so you can compare your before and after results. For increased comfort, we’ll recommend taking a mild analgesic one hour before treatment and bringing headphones to listen to music throughout.
Procedure
Firstly, your face is cleansed, and a numbing cream is applied to your skin. We use safety eye shields for your protection and roll the HALO laser handpiece over your skin in a criss-cross pattern. The HALO’s sophisticated handpiece tracks the treatment area with extreme precision, ensuring that the treatment is even and complete.
A full face takes approximately 30 minutes and during treatment, you’ll feel a hot or cold prickling sensation. You’ll also feel a hot sensation for a further 30 – 60 mins after the treatment has been completed.
Results
You’ll see noticeable results in the appearance of your skin within weeks, with final results achieved at 4 – 6 months. While results are permanent, annual maintenance is an investment that will deliver long-term, stunning results!
Post Treatment Recovery
Post-treatment, swelling is common and expected but will reside within 2 – 3 days. Most clients have a feeling of warmth for up to 24 hours after the procedure but this is also completely normal and expected. Your skin will also redden and may feel a little tight. This can last for up to 3 days following your treatment.
MENDS (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) will appear 2 – 3 days after treatment, presenting as tiny dark spots and giving a bronzed appearance to the skin. Your skin will feel very dry and sandpaper-like, before flaking and peeling off but this is also completely normal.
To help you with the process after your HALO laser treatment, selected Synergie skin products will be recommended to ensure optimal healing and a speedy recovery.

If you require any further information please don’t hesitate to contact us today:
Traditional lasers are purely ablative or non-ablative. Ablative lasers treat aged skin more aggressively, often causing pain and discomfort and requiring more recovery time. Non-ablatives are less aggressive but require more appointments. The HALO perfectly combines both lasers to produce similar results to an ablative laser, but with significantly less downtime and discomfort.
Unlike other laser treatments, you’ll only require 1-2 treatments per year to maintain your glowing results.
Depending on the outcome required and the settings used, the HALO treatment can be uncomfortable. We apply a specific topical anaesthetic cream to the face prior to the procedure and use a cooling device during the treatment to minimise discomfort.
Yes, due to the new technology and that HALO perfectly combines both ablative and non-ablative lasers, it’s definitely worth it.
You only need to get HALO treatments once every 6-12 months to achieve the best results.
Approximately up to 7 days of downtime is required after the treatment. Other ablative laser treatments usually require between 2 to 4 weeks of downtime which shows how advanced the HALO is.
Fraxel is non-ablative, whereas HALO uses both ablative and non-ablative which enables it to give better results and only a slightly longer downtime.
HALO treatments are best used to improve skin texture and tone, as well as treating deeper hyperpigmentation and acne scarring.
