The delicate area around our eyes can be one of the first places where we notice signs of ageing.

Crepey skin, crows feet or dark circles around our eyes can make us look tired and feel older than we are.

We all know that lifestyle factors can play into what our skin looks like and there are definitely things we can all do to improve the appearance of dark circles, for example, getting enough sleep, eating nutritious foods and drinking plenty of water, but doing all these things won’t necessarily eradicate tired looking eyes.

What causes dark circles around the eyes?

If your lifestyle isn’t the cause of your dark circles they may be caused by your genes or the ageing process.

There are 3 underlying issues that are the direct result of ageing or genes that may be to blame for your dark under eyes.

If you are suffering from this problem you may want to consider a tear trough filler for dark circles.

Treating the delicate eye area with tear trough filler requires specialist medical knowledge and not everyone will be suitable for this treatment. We would always recommend that you book a consultation with one of our Cosmetic Nurses here at The Jade Cosmetic Clinic so that we can offer the best advice for your individual needs.

Volume loss under the eye

If you have obvious volume loss under the eyes then a tear trough filler for dark circles may be what you need to replace the hollow area and make your under eyes look brighter.

Tear trough fillers are made from hyaluronic acid which have been specially formulated to not migrate from the under eye area. They can be administered via needle or cannula, your practitioner at The Jade Cosmetic Clinic will talk you through the best treatment options for your individual needs.

Unfortunately tear trough fillers for dark circles are not suitable for every patient. Patients with swollen-looking eyes won’t benefit from this treatment. If you add a tear trough filler to an area that already looks puffy, adding more volume will just make them look worse.

What if tear trough filler for dark circles is not suitable for me?

If you are not suitable for tear trough filler there are other treatments that can help you to get rid of dark circles around the eyes. There is a revolutionary new treatment that is changing the game in the aesthetics world that could be right for you!

Rejuran Polynucleotides are a brand new treatment that use your own biology to help restore and rejuvenate your skin from the inside out.

What are Polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides have been used in medicine for their regenerative qualities for a number of years. They are derived from salmon DNA and when injected into the skin they stimulate fibroblasts allowing your own body to regenerate your skin.

Rejuran Polynucleotides for dark circles

Polynucleotides are different to tear trough fillers as they don’t plump out the area under the eyes. Polynucleotides can be used to help treat dark circles and in addition to this they will also treat the skin quality around the eyes as they stimulate your body to produce more collagen and elastin.

If you have hyperpigmentation, thinning skin, fine lines, wrinkles or crepey skin around the eyes, Polynucleotides may be the treatment you are looking for.

At The Jade Cosmetic Clinic we use Rejuran Polynucleotides, a market-leading brand who derive their ingredients from wild caught salmon DNA.

Exosomes for dark circles

We can also utilise Exosomes when treating the under eye area. Exomsomes, like Polynucleotides, are not a tear trough filler for dark circles as they don’t add any volume. Instead they work by either being applied topically or injected superficially.

Exosomes are a regenerative medicine that can treat dark circles as they work on pigmentation and uneven skin tone amongst other skin concerns.

Like Polynucleotides, Exosomes won’t just work on your dark circles but they will also have a rejuvenating effect on the skin quality around the eyes as well.
