What are Polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides are a regenerative treatment that have been used in medicine for a number of years.
They have been shown to have a powerful efficacy for skin rejuvenation and healing. This has led to them being recently adopted by the aesthetics industry where they are utilised in helping to treat skin concerns and improve skin quality.
Polynucleotides are fragments of wild-caught salmon DNA. When injected superficially into the skin they stimulate your fibroblasts, this in turn sends a message to your body to start making more collagen.
Production of collagen starts to dwindle in our mid-to-late 20s and early 30s and we start losing 1% of our collagen per year after that. By 40, collagen drops dramatically, leading to signs of aging such as wrinkles, skin sagging, skin drying and loss of energy.

Polynucleotides FAQs
You will feel minimal discomfort with this treatment as with most injectables! We can use a needle or cannula to administer the treatment. Our highly trained Cosmetic Nurses aim to keep you as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure and will advise you on the best option for your specific needs.
Initially, you will need to have 3 treatments 2-3 weeks apart. Once you have had these first 3 treatments you will need maintenance treatments every 6-12 months.
You can resume most of your daily activities but please be aware that you may have some redness or swelling which could last between 48- 76 hours. As with all injectables we wouldn’t recommend exercising, using a sauna or steam room or drinking alcohol for 24 hours after treatment.
Other than redness or the potentiality of swelling or bruising there are no other known side effects.
Most people will be suitable for treatment with Rejuran. In fact there have been 10 million syringes of this treatment used with no known side effects. It is even suitable for people who have fish allergies!
Unlike dermal fillers, Rejuran Polynucleotide treatment doesn’t add any volume to the face. If you are lacking in volume but would still like to experience the rejuvenating effects of Rejuran these treatments can be had in conjunction with one another.
